Introducing your 2023/2024 SARRC Board
Terms are usually 2 years unless co-opted by the board, when the term is only for that year. | |
Adam Taylor (Chaiman/President) to 2024I'm Adam and I'm the current president of the SARRC. I'm passionate about helping running grow in SA, and there's no bigger platform to be able to do that! I've played sport all my life, but I've been running since 2015. Within a month of starting running, I decided the New York marathon was my target, so raised money for charity and had one of the greatest experiences of my life. After completing the New York marathon in 2015, I've gone on to complete Berlin, Chicago, New York (again), and London in the hunt for the world majors. It's definitely been a fun journey so far and have clocked up a lot of miles (both in the air and on the ground). I've also been co-running the SARRC Tuesday speed sessions for the last 5 years at the uni loop. I love helping runners improve, and seeing them reach their running goals. It's very satisfying to know you've helped in even a small way. |

Matthew Fenech (Treasurer) to 2024I am the current Treasurer of the South Australian Road Runners Club (SARRC). I have been competitively running for over 30 years and coaching running for around 8 years. I have a knowledge and passion for the sport that runs deep and encompasses many forms of the sport, including road running, marathons and trails. I have a vision to encourage as many people as I can to take up running on a regular basis because I see running as outstanding for the mind and body as well as positive community activity. In my professional career I have experience in data analytics and performance management, as well as administration and government services. I would like to utilise these skills in my role at the SARRC to enable growth in the number of South Australians that regularly take up running and work towards SARRC as the premier organisation for running events in South Australia. |

Kym England to 2024I joined the SARRC Board as an Appointed Board Member, primarily to assist with designing a new Adelaide Marathon course. I have previously been involved in planning major events within an Emergency Services organisation and by using my experience, I am keen to plan a new ‘single lap’ marathon course, for consideration of the board. I also hope to assist the SARRC to improve their contingency and succession planning for current running events. As a keen runner, I enjoy different distance events, but believe that nothing is more fulfilling, than crossing the finish line of a marathon that you have trained months for. I aim to leave the SARRC in a better position than when I arrived. |
