Start Running Classes are coordinated over 12 weeks, where you will be introduced (or re-introduced) to the world of running with a goal of completing a 5K or 10K SARRC event at the end of the 12 week period.

Whether your goal is to run a kilometre non-stop, run your first race or looking to start running again after taking a break, you’ll find a welcoming team atmosphere that encourages you to pursue your goals and have fun along the way!

SARRC’s experienced coaches and instructors will support and encourage you to achieve your running goals. Training sessions will take you through the fundamentals of running and start with easy jogging to slowly build up your running skills each week.

The Start Running Classes offer a great coaching, encouragement and team camaraderie along with inspiration that comes from running with others.

These classes are only available to SARRC Members, and you will be asked to state your current active SARRC ID in order to register.

However, if you are not a member, you are welcome to register – but will be required to become a member during this registration process.

The cost of the start running registration is $20 (Membership fees are additional if you are not a member at the time of registration).

As a benefit, you are entitled to a $20 discount on your first SARRC event – up to 6 months after the completion of the start running course. To receive this benefit, you will need to contact the SARRC Office in order to verify your eligibility and be given a voucher code for the event in which you wish the discount.
